First, let me show you my data for one week. This account was registered three months ago, and the first note I posted after registration went viral. But because I had just started, I didn’t expect to be so lucky, so I fell into many traps and the data didn’t continue to grow. From the traffic structure, we can find that most of the traffic of this note comes from the recommendation on the homepage. We may as well make a bold guess that this is a novice benefit that Xiaohongshu gives to new accounts. Generally, this situation exists on other social media, that is, the platform will give some more friendly rules to new accounts, such as giving some promotion to the first few articles. Douyin and Video Account have similar situations. But this is just my assumption, for reference only. In other words, I want to remind everyone who wants to use Xiaohongshu to pay attention to the data and content quality of the first few notes. If you operate well in the early stages, it is very easy to snowball by leveraging the platform's front-end traffic. Some friends will definitely ask, what if the account has been registered and then missed the novice bonus? Actually, it doesn’t matter, because when I created this account, I was just exploring at the beginning, and I didn’t handle the early traffic very well. As a result, after the platform pushed the traffic and that note went viral, the data for the subsequent notes were very bleak. Then starting from August, I basically haven't updated my Xiaohongshu. Occasionally, one or two notes only get about 200 views and single-digit likes. I think this is a common situation for everyone. Then what I want to focus on next is the method of re-activating a Xiaohongshu account. To be honest, the "secondary launch" I mentioned here is just a conceptual word. I don't think there is such a thing as dead accounts on Xiaohongshu. In most cases, as long as you don't violate the rules, don't make false data, and use the platform normally, the platform will not limit your traffic for no reason. With so many accounts every day, it is impossible for the platform to target you inexplicably. Many tutorials out there say that you have to maintain an account and tag it through likes. This is really nonsense. It is just to create an illusion for novices that there is an operational threshold, which actually complicates the problem. (Of course, if you do something dirty right from the start, make up some fake data, and are repeatedly warned by the platform and put in a small black room, then it is purely your own fault. I suggest you change your way of life.) The conclusion I have drawn from my own practice is that if your account has been idle for a long time and you suddenly have an idea to do it, it is feasible! I summarize the steps into the following steps: self-examination - information collection - content publishing - optimization of interaction - continuous operation (don’t think it looks simple, pay attention to the details!) Basic Implementation MethodologySTEP.1 Self-examinationSelf-examination mainly involves checking what your account already has and whether it needs to be optimized. Also, check whether the profile, avatar, and historical content of your account are in line with the platform's tone. The platform's tone should be good-looking and attractive at first sight. Don't make it look like a slum. The profile should clearly state what your account does. In the early stages, don't think about adding WeChat right away. The platform is annoying, and users may not necessarily believe you. The homepage should be slightly beautified to make it look like you are going to do something. Account making is a long-term business. If you keep doing it, your good days will come. STEP.2 Gather informationThe infrastructure is completed, and the next step is to collect information. Many people who create accounts completely ignore this step, and I am completely confused? Being so confident and yet so ordinary, is it the courage given by Fish Leong? There are several ways to collect information. The simplest and most foolproof one is to go to the Xiaohongshu recommendation page first, like some content that you think is good and that you also want to do, then refresh it a few times to see what content the platform recommends to you and summarize the patterns. This must be emphasized! ! ! Find the current popular traffic words and put them into your content, and that’s the traffic code of Xiaohongshu! Which words are traffic words? Those words that sound fresh and that you rarely see in normal times, all count! Where are the traffic words? In the title, content and comments! Don’t forget to read the comments, because the comments are real! Then this word is constantly updated. With the recent hot spots, topics, and seasons that keep changing, you have to summarize it regularly. If possible, you should summarize it once every three days, and at worst once a week, and then use it in your notes. Recent Xiaohongshu traffic words (2021.11.17)Here are some words I just sorted out over the weekend, for everyone to see: Sugar frosted hawthorn color, tipsy jujube paste, retro black tea, cherry color, dirty orange tone, purple bean paste, caramel honey bobo tea, maple leaf caramel orange, earthy orange brown, cow pattern, milk green, milk apricot color, warm girl pink, oatmeal milk tea color, milk blue, Klein blue, haze blue, sweetheart rose makeup, rich girl makeup, rich outfit, cold cocoa makeup, expansion color, cement gray, blush purple, blush blue, olive skin, Japanese feeling, low saturation, pseudo-natural makeup, eyelash essence, mother-born eyelashes, natural creamy skin, white water girl style, coquettish essence, yellow skin, yellow and black skin, olive skin, deep lips, snake series, pure desire, pure desire scheming hot girl style, pure desire ceiling, pure desire hot girl, full of aggression, world-weary face, drag sister, light punk, little smoky Including but not limited to the above, especially limited by the type of content you are doing, the words will definitely be different. This work requires frequent summarization. You can't copy homework. It takes time. In addition to the most fool-proof method, another method is to look at it through its third-party data tools. This is faster and more direct than the platform recommendation. You can choose the type of notes you want to make and sort them by likes. You can directly view popular materials, and you can pay special attention to the notes of low-fan hot articles, which are generally good references. To avoid suspicion of advertising, I won’t go into details here. If you need any information, please send me a private message. STEP.3 Publish contentThen you need to quickly apply the content you summarized into your own notes. As mentioned before, the hot topics and traffic words on Xiaohongshu are time-limited. Of course, the sooner you follow up, the better. It is not the case that if you use the information you created half a year later, it will be completely ineffective. Generally, within the effective time, some popular brand words, category words, hot words, and festival words can bring good recommendation traffic to your notes (provided that they can be included). All you have to do is pick some usable sentences from the words you found, use as many of these words as possible in your notes, and organize them into coherent sentences. Here I would like to focus on the note types, videos and pictures, and which one is more suitable for beginners. Many guides and tutorials tell you that making videos is good and will generate a lot of traffic, but I conscientiously recommend that beginners start with pictures and texts. The first is the traffic issue that everyone is most concerned about. Compared with the cases of making Xiaohongshu videos around me, high-quality videos can indeed get more support on the Xiaohongshu platform, but the premise is that they are of high quality! In other words, you have to at least meet the passing line in terms of content, pictures, scripts, and sounds. This is very difficult to do for many novices. If you take a video full of noise with your mobile phone, it will not be as good as if you carefully edited a few pictures. As I said before, if you keep doing it, good days will come. If you release one video a month, it will be a miracle if you can stick to it, let alone whether the operation is up to standard. But if you already have great editing and filming skills, or even have a few friends working with you, you can ignore my advice. Secondly, by following the method I mentioned earlier to create pictures and texts, you can also get relatively considerable traffic. Xiaohongshu notes generally come from several sources: search, homepage recommendations, personal homepages, follow pages and others. For my own Xiaohongshu, the first three parts account for the largest share of traffic, and search and homepage recommendations are basically the bulk. Give priority to content optimization. Homepage recommendations and search can give a good starting point to notes. It is not necessary to start making videos from scratch. It is too laborious and too difficult to sustain. Let me also mention the issue of note inclusion here. Note inclusion is directly related to the search traffic of your single note. Whether this traffic is important depends on one's opinion. From my personal practical point of view, this part of the traffic is still considerable. Half of the traffic of my several notes with 100 likes comes from search. The inclusion rate of the notes I currently publish is over 80%. I am a vested interest in the included notes, and I will definitely recommend that you do a good job in collecting your notes. How can I check whether my notes have been included? A very simple method is to enter your RedBook ID into the search box, and the notes that can be searched are the included notes. How to get notes included is a mystery. I also have several notes that cannot be included no matter what I do, and I can't find the specific reason. I have summarized some of the factors that determine inclusion. Generally, unless there are special circumstances, I will optimize the content according to the following points, which can greatly increase the chance of note inclusion: 1. Whether the cover looks good. The most important thing for Xiaohongshu is appearance. Appearance is not something you can achieve by simply posting one or two screenshots. You need to make a good cover with a big title, sub-titles, colors and layout. Even robots will praise you when they see it! 2. Is the content of quality? Don’t tell me why other people’s notes with only one sentence can be included. This is a matter of probability. What we are discussing now is to increase the inclusion rate of notes, which means taking every relevant factor into consideration. High-quality and rich content will definitely have a higher inclusion rate than a mere note, right? Then just follow the previous method, summarize the traffic words, make sentences, write a short essay, describe the product, environment, or even your own experience, and even talk about why you wrote this note, which can improve the content quality of the note; 3. Check if there are any banned words. Copy your short essay to Juyi.com and check whether it contains any banned words. Replace the contents marked in red with safe words, especially the contents about makeup, skin care, and medicines and health products. Check carefully, as this may be an important factor affecting the inclusion of your notes. 4. Consider whether to @官方土豆. In order to gain traffic, many influencers in Xiaohongshu usually go to the official circles related to the content of their notes to get traffic. Sometimes the official will indeed give more traffic, but this is a double-edged sword. It is also very likely that your tips will be misjudged as advertisements and illegal content. If your notes fail to be included, it is recommended to re-edit the note content and delete the official potato, which will increase the probability of note inclusion. STEP.4 Optimize interactionAfter the content is completed, the last step you need to consider is to design some interactive hooks after the content is released to guide users to interact with the notes and increase the weight of the content, so as to help your notes be pushed to more people. This involves the mechanism of algorithm recommendation. Many people have answered it, so I will not elaborate on it. But what you need to know is that the Xiaohongshu platform is the same as other content platforms. Interactions also have different weights. The weight priority I tested is: comments>collections>likes. Therefore, finding ways to increase the comment rate of your notes can greatly increase the exposure of your notes. Secondly, I also found that another important factor affecting the exposure of notes is the user's browsing time. The average browsing time of several of my highly-praised long-tail notes (that is, notes with low short-term burst but good medium- and long-term traffic) is more than 30 seconds. In other words, if you can get users to stay in your content longer, it will also help your notes to be better displayed and distributed. STEP.5 Continuation and replicationIf you complete the above steps, your notes will basically pass the test, and at least they will be treated fairly. But it does not mean that every note will go viral. Next, what I said is continuous operation. The continuous operation I am talking about here does not just daily updates. On the contrary, I infer from the data that daily updates will have a diversion effect on popular notes. The continuous operation I am talking about includes continuous data analysis, content summary and accumulation, and relatively stable content output within a certain period of time. Xiaohongshu does not have a so-called operating rhythm, nor does it mean that regular updates will increase the account weight as some experts say. My updates are more measured by data, and the general rhythm is: When a note goes viral (my indicator for a viral note is 20 likes in the first 100 reads), I quickly optimize the interaction and publish another note the next day to radiate the influence of the viral note to the second note, and then observe the data of the two notes synchronously. Notes all have traffic peaks. Generally, if the number of likes exceeds 100 in the first three days, there is a chance that they will be added to a larger traffic pool. If the first popular article drives traffic to the second article, then don’t release new content yet, and make a push plan based on the data of the two notes. As long as you ensure that there is always at least one note in your account with traffic, and it is continuous, it will be fine. This is what I said at the beginning, the snowball method. The above is the methodology that Chunxi has currently verified to be very suitable for novices to practice and implement. You are also welcome to privately discuss the specific operating methods, details, and tools mentioned in the method. I hope this set of operating methods will be of practical help to everyone~!
