The iPhone 6 Plus may not be as popular as we thought

Earlier last month, Apple announced that the first-week sales of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded 10 million units. This is obviously an astonishing number, indicating that users have been looking forward to the large-screen iPhone for a long time, and the expectation has finally turned into actual purchasing power.

Although Apple did not disclose the proportion of the two phones in the 10 million units sold, the media and analysts generally speculated that the more radically larger iPhone 6 Plus would be more popular. However, data from Chitika, a network traffic statistics company, seems to indicate that the iPhone 6 Plus is not as popular as expected.

The data shows the network traffic generated by iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus within 10 days, among which iPhone 6 has the highest share, accounting for 4.8% of the total North American network traffic, while iPhone 6 Plus is 2.3%, and iPhone 5 is the last, accounting for 0.3%. The data also pointed out that as early as 2012, within 10 days of the launch of iPhone 5, the network traffic generated quickly reached a share of 4.8%.

Of course, combined with the news of insufficient production and delayed delivery of iPhone 6 Plus, this result may be because many users have not received their iPhone 6 Plus. However, the iPhone 6 Plus is too large, easy to bend, and more expensive. I believe that when the supply is stable at the end of this year, there will be a more definite answer to which of the two large iPhones is more popular.
